Because let’s face it; fried food is NOT brain food!
While it may taste good the effect it has on your health is simply NOT worth it.
Fried chicken is a favorite meal for many southern folks.
(Unless you’ve hopped on board the vegetarian train;
if that’s you don’t worry I have something for you as well).
However what it does to your health might make you want
to think twice about eating it especially from your local
fast food joint and even many restaurants. Why? Because
many contain MSG which is a neurotoxin that acts as a
flavor enhancer and when consumed often can over stimulate
the brain and cause damage or death to your cells.
It is also known to cause headaches and migraines.
That being said the best way to enjoy fried chicken is to
make it on your own using antibiotic free, vegetarian
fed, cage free chicken. Instead of frying it try baking
it- yes you still get the nice, crispy outside!
I personally do not eat chicken however I am absolutely in love with using cauliflower as “chicken”
bites. Pair it with your favorite wing sauce and I promise you they are so similar to popcorn chicken!
Tip: Always make sure to dry cauliflower COMPLETELY before baking (I use a towel and pat them dry).
